Story Behind the Art:

This piece is the product of a family tradition spanning several generations, dedicated to the traditional art of tooling and embossing leather furniture. The craft was passed down from grandparents to parents to children, each generation preserving the same devotion, caring dedication, and unique technique.

For this artisan family, embossing leather is more than a craft — it is a heritage. The patriarch learned to work with leather at a very young age, making saddles primarily for fine Peruvian paso horses. He later established a small workshop where his totally handmade products gained great acceptance and prestige.

Today, the family proudly preserves this tradition, incorporating contemporary techniques and designs. Their work has been exhibited at national and international fairs and events, earning significant prizes and recognitions, mainly in Brazil and Argentina.

Each creation is totally handmade. After sketching the figures, the piece is embossed with chisel and hammer, using several types of chisels depending on the intricacy of the motifs. The embossed leather is then placed on the furniture piece, simultaneously prepared. Pieces are finished with a mixture of walnut stain and ink, carefully matching the wood color. Furniture is made from cedar and mahogany wood, carefully selected and treated.
